Newleaf Communities (each and together, "we" or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information it collects, handles and stores and that these activities are carried out in accordance with the legislative requirements of the relevant jurisdictions.

Respect for Your Privacy

Newleaf Communities respects its’ customers', clients', suppliers' and employees' (each and together, "you" or "your") right to the privacy of their personal information. We have developed and implemented policies and procedures that ensure all personal information is handled sensitively, securely and in accordance with the relevant jurisdictions legislative requirements.

This Privacy Policy Details:

the types of information we may hold about you and for what purposes;
how we may collect, retain, use and disclose that information;
information that you should be aware of regarding information we collect about you;
your rights to access information we may hold about you; and
where you can obtain further information

What information do we collect?

When you look at the pages on the Newleaf Communities website, our computers automatically record information that identifies, for each page accessed:

the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the machine which has accessed it;
your top-level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc.);
the address of your server;
the date and time of your visit to the site;
the pages accessed and documents downloaded;
the previous site visited; and
the type of browser and operating system you have used.

Depending on the nature of your relationship with Newleaf Communities, we may collect personal information such as your name, address, telephone number or email address. For prospective employees, we may also seek information such as your resume and employment history and for customers we may collect information about the use of our products and services. Newleaf Communities shall only collect information about you if it is reasonable, practical and legal to do so.

Newleaf Communities has in place measures to ensure your personal information is protected from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure or amendment. We also have in place procedures to destroy or permanently remove the identity of personal information as it becomes obsolete.

In general terms, you are under no obligation to provide any information that we may request of you. You should however be aware that by withholding requested information, we may be unable to provide you with our services, particularly if the information requested is required by law.

What exceptions are there to this rule?

The Newleaf Communities will collect, use and disclose more extensive information than stated above in the following circumstances:

unauthorised attempts to access files which are not published on Newleaf Communities pages;
unauthorised tampering or interference with files published on the Newleaf Communities site;
unauthorised attempts to index the contents of the Newleaf Communities site by other sites;
attempts to intercept messages of other users of the Newleaf Communities site;
communications which are defamatory, abusive, vilify individuals or groups or which give rise to a suspicion that an offence is being committed; and
attempts to otherwise compromise the security of the web server, breach the laws of the State of New South Wales or Commonwealth of Australia, or interfere with the enjoyment of the Newleaf Communities site by other users.

Newleaf Communities reserves the right to make disclosures to relevant authorities where the use of the Newleaf Communities’ site raises a suspicion that an offence is being, or has been, committed.
In the event of an investigation, the Newleaf Communities will provide access of data to any law enforcement agency that may exercise a warrant to inspect our logs.

How do we use your personal information?

Newleaf Communities typically uses personal information collected for purposes such as keeping you informed of our products or services, undertaking business transactions with you, complying with our obligations of employment and keeping you updated on company information and events such as shareholder meetings.

The information collected during each visit is aggregated with similar logged information and published in reports in order for the Newleaf Communities to identify patterns of usage of the site. This will assist us in improving our site and the services offered on it.

We may disclose your information to a third party in the event it is legal to do so and/or we are compelled to do so by law. You have the right to tell us not to send you information other than for the main purpose for which we have collected your personal details. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact the Newleaf Communities General Manager.

Accessing your personal information

On request, we shall provide you with access to any personal information we may hold about you (unless otherwise permitted by law). To obtain your personal information you should contact the Newleaf Communities General Manager.

Prior to providing any information to you, we will require proof of identity. In most cases, your information shall be provided free of charge, however for complex or substantial requests we may charge a reasonable fee for this service.

Should you wish to update or amend personal information that we hold, you should contact the Newleaf Communities business area to which you supplied your initial information so that we may make the change.

Who else has access to information within Newleaf Communities?

The Newleaf Communities captures this information on its own computers. Access to the raw data is restricted to a limited number of staff at the Newleaf Communities for the purpose of analysis and to report on the success of the Newleaf Communities in meeting its communication and access objectives.
Staff may disclose an individual's personal information in joint meetings with other agencies where a Service Agreement, Memorandum of Understanding or similar document is in place and the 'Privacy Act' or 'Code' permits the disclosure, or when seeking the professional opinion of another staff member. However, they will withhold personal information that is not relevant to the matter being discussed.

Will this policy be updated over time?

Due to the developing nature of privacy principles for online communication, this policy may be modified or expanded in light of new developments or issues that may arise from time to time.
