Over the past 12 months Bonnyrigg residents have provided more than 3,000 hours of volunteering assistance in their community.
The extraordinary efforts of the 40 Bonnyrigg volunteers has seen their assistance range from providing 100 hours of music lessons to young students through to 360 hours of computer tutoring.

Bonnyrigg High School opened in term two with new gardens completed thanks to a $5000 donation from Newleaf Communities and the efforts of the Green Wings team and its horticulture trainees.
Green Wings is a $1.8 million Federally-funded project run by Newleaf Communities. It is designed to gear businesses in and around Bonnyrigg towards sustainable industries.

Newleaf Communities’ community housing partner St George Community Housing recently awarded 14 local students in Bonnyrigg with bursaries towards their ongoing education.
The awards were based on four main categories: Academic achievement, Sport, Community involvement and Need.

On April 1, 2009, Bonnyrigg Partnerships became known as Newleaf Communities.
Newleaf Communities (formerly Bonnyrigg Management) General Manager Claudia Stevens said that the name was chosen following an extensive community consultation process and they were very excited about the final result.
"Newleaf Communities builds on all the good things about Bonnyrigg such as the leafy environment and the diverse local cultures. Now that the development is fully underway, we believe it is the perfect time to transition to the new brand of Newleaf Communities," said Ms Stevens.

Bonnyrigg Partnerships has welcomed development planning approval that paves the way for construction work to commence immediately on the $733 million Bonnyrigg renewal project in south west Sydney.
The project provides for the complete redevelopment of the 81-hectare Bonnyrigg public housing estate into a vibrant new community comprising 2,332 private and public dwellings to be built by 2021.
